We're always making improvements,
but this year has seen some big ones. Our original 3-room layout is now one
large room with a loft. We bought a new Studer mixing console and a second
2-inch sixteen-track recorder. We have adopted a girl rat named Otis.
The new larger tracking room
also gives us enough space to put on shows, and we plan to do so, as long as
it's okay with the neighbours.
The studio has many useful
and interesting features, including:
- a Hammond organ with
Leslie speaker
- an old Canadian upright
piano
- many guitars in odd shapes
and sizes
- a futon
- some excellent tube
amplifiers
- a very handsome drumset
- Studer, Ampex, and Tascam
multitrack formats
- various microphones and
mic amps
- ProTools and a Mac G4
- assorted brass and woodwind
instruments
- some outboard compressors
and effects
- a cat
There is no glass-walled
"isolation booth". The couch is not leather.
Laundry, Latin American
food, and a porch to smoke on are all less than 17 metres away.
Within a somewhat larger
circumference (but easy to reach by foot) can be found:
- Chinese food
- a park
- hospital
- pizza
- the Labatt brewery retail
store
- very good coffee
- The Old Vic Tavern
- delicious subs
- a big liquor store
- snacks
- the Thames river
- a good breakfast special
The House of Miracles has
been in operation since 1996. A lot of good times have been had.
Our current day rate for tracking,
editing, mixing and mastering is $350. Please call or email for more information.
